Tales from a female orange cat :)--- Or may we say TAILS from a female orange cat :)

Hi there! Coconut here! To introduce myself, I am an orange cat (and I'm quite beautiful too) with a lovely mama. I also have a friend, Mango, who is black and white. Alongside being orange, I am a girl! My mama took me to the vet one day to get my shots (Yikes!) and he was telling my mama all about how I was rare. I was very astonished! Who gets that news everyday? My mama told me I was rare too. I wonder how rare I am, though. Hopefully lots and lots! My mama visited a site where another female orange cat's mama asked questions to a professor.

The interviewer's name was Dee. Here is his word:
Well, it’s not that orange female cats are rare, it is simply that an orange cat is more likely to be a male. For a female cat to be orange, she must inherit two orange genes — one from her mother (orange, calico, or tortoiseshell) and one from her father (who must be orange). A male cat needs only one orange gene, which he gets from his mother (orange, calico, or tortoiseshell). This is because the gene that codes for orange fur is on the X chromosome, and like humans, females have two Xs and males are XY. Genes on the chromosome are said to be sex-linked. Well, isn't my mama proud of me!?? That means my daddy was for sure orange! I wish I could see him again.... I sure do miss him! Same with my real mama, I want to see her again, too. I hope my mama and daddy are both still alive. Oh, did I mention that I had a brother and sister? I do! I just haven't seen them for a long time. Ever since I was a little kitten! I cannot remember if they are orange or not. I remember they had the sweetest meow a cat could have. I hope there doing ok!
